Growth vs. Fixed Mindset

Are you trying to create change in your life, yet still hitting roadblocks to that much needed change? Try examining any limiting beliefs you may have. For example, I had recently begin to notice an increase in arguments with my almost 13 year old son. The thought I had was, "this is just impossible.....we just cannot get along." I recognized that this was a limiting belief so I began to pray for guidance. I started to visualize all of the pleasant an fun times we have had in the past. Next, I changed my thought to "Where there is a will, there is a way." I began to ask myself what I have done in the past to be successful in relating to my son. The answer became clear. It was to create connection!!!! I practiced this by asking my son questions about things he is interested in. This lead to a rich discussion of so many topics. He began giving me feedback on my website as well as give me piano lessons. It was truly a very successful morning. Will this be our last argument? Probably not. Remember when working towards achieving a goal, strive for improvement and excellence rather than strive for perfection. We all make mistakes along the way and it's important to learn from our mistakes. This helps create a "Growth Mindset."
